Exhaustive summary of Miles' careerNov 15, 2009
By Met Fan I bought the original box set on CD when it came out. This is a rather thorough overview of Miles' career with Columbia, which is generally his most popular work. It's not a substitute for picking up the classic albums (or unearthing the not-as-classic), but let me put it this way - I own a couple dozen Miles albums, and this collection is probably still the Miles album I listen to the most, just because it's an easy way to listen to the amazing span of his career in one good package. Highly recommend, especially if you're just getting into Miles and you're confused/overwhelemed by the stunning amount of styles he hit on.

Classy MilesSep 30, 2001

it's hard to Believe it's Been 10 Years since THe Powerful Genius of Miles Davis Left Planet Earth.but this Box Set shows that His Talent&Vibe shall never be forgotten.this Box Set manily goes the route of the Smooth 50's&60's stuff.that gets over the bulk of the Material here.Miles was always about change&direction also Spacing His Music&vibe.for a New Listener trying to get as much Miles but not quite willing to Jam to the 70's Funk Miles this is a cool Start.RIP to the Man with the Horn.
