Genius!Jan 13, 2009
By Christopher Bush Miles Davis, is the birth of cool, and the birth of modern jazz. "Kind of Blue" is a masterpiece, and proves that Miles Davis is the progenitor of everything that is jazz music.

I'm a huge fan of Miles Davis and this is my favorite album of his. Everyone who listens to jazz knows the opening track So What, but my favorites are Blue in Green, and All Blues. If you are new to jazz this is a must buy. One of the greatest jazz albums of all time.

Ground-breaking soundAug 21, 2008

"Music Is Life..."
Miles Davis is easily one of the most influential of Jazz musicians in history, and this, one of his most well-known projects, shows why.
Listening to it a half-century later, it might sound less unique, but in the context of the time (1959), it would been so amazingly hot and cutting-edge, to have been mind-blowing to many listeners, and hated by many others. You either loved it, or you hated it. But all true masters of their craft have had that dilemma at one time or another.
This album is definitely a must-have album!
Vinyl forever!Aug 26, 2009

No question anymore. I have both the CD and the Vinyl and the LP sounds far superior. (tube pre-amp, Stanton cartridge, Cambridge amplifier, KEF speakers). The fact that this LP is becoming a collector's item and I have been offered 3x what I paid for it does not affect my opinion. It is not for sale!

One of the bestApr 19, 2008
By Carlos A Carvajal Undoubtedly this CD is one of the most important recordings in the Jazz History. This is a master piece of the improvisation and all serious listeners must have in his collection. I always enjoy it.
